Pekka started taking underwater pictures in 1992. Since then he has travelled the world but is now concentrating on taking pictures in his native Finland. In his book ”The Underwater World of Finland” (2013) he has given the public a visual introduction to the local fauna for the first time.
Pekka has participated in and judged many photo contests.
He is the reigning champion of the Nordic countries in underwater photography. His awards also include Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2010 in Finland and honorary mentions in UPY, WPY, GDT and Underwater Photo Marathon.
